Heavy Hex Structural Bolts for Australian Wind Farm Foundation Project
Project Overview We supplied 48 tons of 8.8 grade heavy hex structural bolts for the 180MW wind farm project in Victoria, Australia, used for tower foundation connections. The customer required delivery within 21 days to keep their installation schedule on track. Client Challenges The local Australian supplier quoted a 45-day lead time, which would have pushed the project's winter installation window. They also failed to provide complete wind load fatigue test reports and AS/NZS 4680 hot dip galvanized coating thickness documentation required by the project engineer. Our Solution We manufactured the bolts to AS/NZS 1252 standard, with an average hot dip galvanized coating thickness of 95μm, well above the minimum 85μm requirement. We attached full wind load cycle test reports, heat number traceability records for every batch, and completed production 14 days ahead of schedule, shipping the full order to the Port of Melbourne. Outcome The customer's incoming inspection passed on the first try. Two months later, they placed a 22 ton repeat order for the wind farm's second phase expansion.
