Socket head cap screws (GB/T 70.1-2008 / DIN 912 / ISO 4762) have a cylindrical head and internal hex drive tightened with an Allen key. The design allows relatively high tightening torque; the head typically remains above the workpiece after installation.

Available materials include carbon steel grades 4.8, 8.8, 10.9 and 12.9, with A2 (304) and A4 (316) stainless steel options. Standard surface finishes offered are black oxide, blue-white zinc, yellow zinc, and passivation for stainless steel.
