Nylon insert lock nuts per DIN 985, DIN 982, ISO 10512 and ASME B18.16.6 include a molded nylon ring at the top of the nut. The nylon grips the bolt thread during tightening to produce friction that helps reduce self‑loosening when exposed to vibration. These nuts are available in carbon steel and stainless steel grades 304 and 316.
They are used where a secure, vibration-resistant assembly is required, for example in machinery, vehicles, electronic equipment and outdoor fixtures. Specify standard, size, and thread when ordering to ensure compatibility with the mating fastener.
